What is Reiki? Pronounced Ray key.
Ray means Universal & Ki means energy or life force. Therefore Reiki means Universal Energy.
Universal energy is a healing energy that is all around us all the time. Like the rays of the sun it gives life to all living things.
The Reiki practitioner channels this energy through her & out of her hands then into the client. The energy amplifies the strength of the immune system, which speeds up the bodies own healing.
Reiki works on mind, body, emotional & spiritual elements, bringing the body into harmony.
Reiki is a complimentary therapy which can be used alongside orthodox medicines. It is NOT an alternative therapy, & if the client is on medication under the supervision of their Doctor, they must also continue with the Doctors treatment.
A Reiki treatment usually lasts for about 1 hour, during which time the client will feel deeply relaxed. They may feel heat, tingling or pulsating from the practitioners hands...this is the universal energy at work!!
